About
Following an undergraduate degree in languages, I qualified and worked as a teacher of English as a foreign language. In 2000 I graduated from Auckland University with a Degree in Law with Honours.
I commenced legal practice at the national firm Russell McVeagh in 2000. While at the firm I completed a Masters in Law with First Class Honours, also at the University of Auckland. I commenced practice as a Barrister in April 2007.
I have acted for some of New Zealand's largest companies, for multi-nationals, and for individuals, across various sectors and in a wide range of litigation in New Zealand courts at all levels, in arbitrations and in mediations.
I bring clarity, precision, integrity and advanced advocacy skills to disputes, with a clear focus on the client's best interests and goals, whether best advanced through advice, negotiation, alternative dispute resolution such as mediation or arbitration, or through effective and focused litigation in the courts. Or, by a combination of these.
I am a strong believer in the importance of access to justice for all members of our community, and accordingly I accept instructions in civil legal aid matters and appeals to the Court of Appeal and/or Supreme Court.
